What this check settles, and what it does not
Was it transcribed correctly?
Settled. A code that has been mistyped, or read off the wrong line, will not match.
Has the name or date been altered since it was issued?
Settled. The code is derived from both, so changing either one breaks the match.
Is it an RH IQ certificate rather than a sibling product’s?
Settled. Codes carry a product prefix, and one issued by LTC IQ or Labour IQ is reported as such instead of as a typo.
Did RH IQ issue this certificate?
Not established, and no amount of care in the other three closes it. The algorithm that produces a code is part of the product, and the product runs in the browser — so anyone who reads the source can compute a valid code for any name and date. This is tamper-evidence, not proof of issuance. A server-side registry would settle it, and there is not one yet. Said here rather than left for you to discover.
